1. The gum print is based on what?
the light sensitivity of the chromium
2. If you look at a gum print, the darker areas of the picture are because of what and the whiter areas of the picture are because of?
where the light hits
3. (Watch video to the end to help develop your answer for this question) Is digital photography as fine of an art form as photography from the past that took more time to process? Why or why not? Explain your reasoning.
i'd have to say no because when pictures would take longer you had to actually think about the images more which would make the picture more special to the person but if you look at taking them now all you have to do if you don't like that one is go take a bunch more whenever you'd like

History Essay
Taking care of everything that photographers use now a days is a lot easier that what it was. And the process that they use now is probably more expansive than what it was. Using the digital process you only need to use your phone or computer to do most things and there wouldn't be much that you would have to take care of. But using the film process you are having to take more care of the things that you use because if you don't you could ruin it and then you might not be able to use it again because some of the stuff they use to have the image start coming out are chemicals that are sensitive to the light. And without this process for the film you wouldn't be able to have any permeant blue and white images.
If you think about it most of the main pictures that were taken awhile back were important in some way. Like, the Albumen prints made it where people could go and travel and would be able to picture important times in the world or even in their life. And something else that is important would be that the tintypes were the first/earliest forms in photography. But they also needed platinum paper to go to the war.
Something that really interested me was that you could use a can that just had a hole in it to take a picture. And all you had to do was expose it to light for 30 seconds or more depending on the lighting that is around you. Which then they'd go and do the dark process which pretty much you'd use some kind of chemicals and let it sit in there for a few then the very last one you'd put it in water and let it sit and form the image.
